Both factions of Hurriyat Conference, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and a traders’ body have called for a shutdown on October 19 to protest the death of Zahid Rasool Bhat who succumbed to his injuries today at a hospital in New Delhi.
The Hurriyat factions, led by Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, appealed people to observe complete strike to protest the incident.
JKLF while condemning the attack appealed people to observe a shutdown said Muslims were feeling unsafe in India following attacks by right-wing groups.
Kashmir Economic Alliance, a body of traders, also appealed for a strike.
