Militants Strike Ahead Of Modi’s Visit; 11 CRPF Men Injured In Grenade Attack

Suspected militants on Thursday tossed a grenade at a paramilitary CRPF installation in Khayam area of summer capital Srinagar, resulting in injuries to eleven personnel.


The grenade was lobbed at the Ikhwan hotel in old Srinagar today evening, CRPF said.

A spokesman said that the attack took place at 82 battalion CRPF lodged at Ikhwan hotel.

“Eleven CRPF men were injured,” he said.

The attack comes less than 48 hours ahead of PM Modi’s scheduled visit to the state.
