Locals alleged that a column of Army’s 15 RR raided several houses and tortured a woman, her son and two other persons while asking them about whereabouts of militants.

The mother-son due, police said, are being treated at District hospital Baramulla while two more injured are being shifted to the hospital as the Zabn Gujjar Basti area where the incident happened, lacked road connectivity with the district headquarters.

A local villager said that the mother-son duo was badly tortured by army men during the crackdown at around 3am today.

As soon as villagers reached Bandipora along with the injured, massive protests erupted with demonstrators demanding action against erring army men.

A top police has said that a team of police men has been dispatched to the village to check the facts.

There has been no word from the army on the incident so far.
