Two Militants, Civilian Killed In Pulwama gunfight, Clashes

SRINAGAR, APRIL 30: Two Hizb ul Mujahideen militants and civilian were killed in a gunfight and ensuing clashes in Drubgam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday. Fifteen civilians and two soldiers were also injured.

The slain militants were identified as Sameer Tiger of Drubgam and Aqib Ahmad of Rajpora.

Reports said that a civilian Shahid Ahmad of Arihal village was hit by a bullet during clashes near the site of gunfight underway in the village since today morning.

He was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where doctors declared him dead on arrival, they said.

Medical Superintendent Pulwama hospital, Abdul Rashid Parra, according to GNS, also confirmed the death of the youth. He said that the youth had received serious firearm injury.

Reports said that fifteen civilians were injured in the clashes. They said that five of them have been shifted to Srinagar for specialized treatment.

A major and a soldier of 44 RR were injured in the initial exchange of fire with the militants, reports said. The injured were shifted to 92 base military hospital in Badami Bagh Srinagar.
