Massive Search Operation In Tral Forests After Militant Attack

SRINAGAR, MAY 16: Government forces on Wednesday launched a search operation after militants fired upon an army patrolling party in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports said that the militants fired upon a patrolling party of the army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles in Shikargah forest area of Tral before escaping from there.

However, there was no immediate report of any casualties.

Soon after the firing incident, the area was cordoned off by the forces. “A search operation is on to nab the attackers,” said an official.

“Some exchange of fire between SFs and militants in the forests of Tral. Search begins. Information is preliminary in nature,” police said on Twitter.
