SRINAGAR, MAY 06: Militants on Sunday appeared in the funeral procession of their slain colleague Bilal Ahmad Mohand at Heff in southern Shopian district and offered a gun salute.
Local sources said that four militants showed up at Bilal’s funeral and fired some rounds in the air.
They said that tens of thousands of people were marching towards the village to bid adieu to Bilal.
As reported earlier, the government forces had blocked the main road leading to Heff – native village of Bilal and Saddam Padder.
Local sources said that the people in thousands were taking alternate routes through orchards and alleys to reach the village.
Bilal, along with Saddam Padder, assistant professor Dr Muhammad Rafi, Adil and Tauseef were killed in a gunfight in Badigam village of the district.
