Militants Snatch Two Rifles From PSOs of Political Leader in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR, MAY 26: Militants on Saturday night snatched two rifles from policemen guarding a political leader affiliated with JK Tehreek Bachao Party in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Reports said that the militants snatched AK-47 and Insas rifles from the personal security officers of Advocate Sayed Gowhar when he was visiting a relative’s home in Dabruna village of the district.

Gowhar is a resident of Aasnoor Watoo village of adjoining Kulgam district.

Police version:

Police has learnt that from the residence of a protected person at Dabran Anantnag two weapons have been taken away.

The PSOs were from security wing and Kulgam police respectively. The circumstance of the weapon disappearance is being investigated.

The Protected Person was apparently not present at his house. Police has registered a case and investigation has been started.
