SRINAGAR, MAY 09: A militant’s speech at the funeral of slain Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Saddam Padder calling for the recruitment of a youth from every household in Kashmir has gone viral on social networking websites.
The short-statured militant standing next to the body of Padder in Heff village says “we (militants) have lost spiritual father” in the death of the Hizb commander who died along with four associates in a gunfight with the forces in Badigam village on last Sunday.
“In the martyrdom of our commander Saddam Padder, we have lost our spiritual father. We (militants) are pained more than you do. But with the wish and blessings of Allah, we will recruit one youth from every house,” he tells the audience, amid the cries of pro-freedom slogans.
He also rebuked the gathering as commotion broke out during his speech. “I stand before you in having firm faith on Almighty Allah and my religion Islam. Stop this noise and kindly lend an attentive ear. We are all in pain today. We have lost our spiritual father (Saddam Padder),” the militant is heard as saying.
He also invoked Muhammad Bin Qasim, a general of Ummayad general who conquered the Sindh and Multan regions of Indian sub-continent. “In this religion of Islam we have seen Mohammed Bin Qasim fighting. He was just 17-years-old when conquered four continents. He had faith in Allah. I will tell you something today… would you accept what I will tell you. There is nothing to fear now. God says neither you should panic nor fear.”
The militant, however, cut short his speech as the audience continued to make noise.
