Civilian Shot Dead Near Gunfight Site In South Kashmir’s Pulwama

SRINAGAR, JUNE 29: A civilian was killed in clashes with the government forces near the site of a gunfight in Chatpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.

An official said that Faizan Ah Khan, son of Dr. Abdul Gani Khan, resident of Khrew Pampore suffered a bullet injury in his abdomen after forces used live ammunition and pellets to disperse protesters who had gathered near the site of the gunfight.

He was shifted to district hospital Pulwama where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Faizan, according to the official, was putting up presently at Government Quarters in Pulwama town.

Meanwhile, the gunfight is underway between the militants, believed to be three in number, and the forces at Chatpora.
