Eight Protesters Injured In Clashes Near Gunfight Site in South Kashmir’s Pulwama

SRINAGAR, JUNE 29: At least eight persons were injured in clashes with the government forces near the site of a gunfight in Chatpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.

Reports said that eight persons were injured in the clashes, with one of them identified as Rouf Ahmad suffering a bullet injury in his leg. “He was shifted to Bone and Joint hospital Barzulla for treatment,” said a source.

Clashes broke out after the youth took to streets and pelted the forces which had cordoned off the area with stones to disrupt the anti-militant operation.

The forces, according to reports, fired live ammunition, pellets and tear gas to disperse the protesters, triggering further clashes.

Meanwhile, the exchange of fire between militants and the forces was going on when the last reports came.
