SSP Pulwama Mohd Aslam Choudhary also confirmed the attack and death of the constable Mudasir Ahmad, GNS reported.

Police version:

Militants in the afternoon hours today fired indiscriminately at the policemen in Muran village of Pulwama district who were accompanying ex-MLA Rajpora Ghulam Mohiudin.

“The Protected person is safe and secure. However, one of his PSOs Mudasir who was from district Police has attained martyrdom while the other PSO Nasir from security wing is stable,” said a spokesman, in a statement.

“Apparently”, he said, the militants have snatched the weapons of the policemen after the firing incident.

Based on the initial probe, it is learnt that Zahoor Thokar group of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit is involved in the attack.
