SRINAGAR, JULY 21: Militants on Saturday carried out two strikes on the army and the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Anantnag and Kulgam districts of south Kashmir.
Reports said that the militants attacked a CRPF on Khanabal- Pahalgam road in Anantnag, leaving two personnel injured. However, SP Anantnag Amit Kumar denies that any trooper was injured.
He said that the CRPF personnel retaliated to the firing.
In a second strike, militants attacked a patrolling party of the army in Qaimoh village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The attack took place hours after an attack on the CRPF party in neighbouring Anantnag district.
Reports said that the militants fired upon a patrolling party of army’s 1 RR in Hawoora village of Qaimoh. However, there was no report of injuries.
An official said that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
