A Kashmir Police Officer’s Tweet On Death Is Trending Online; Read Here Why

NEW DELHI, MAY 03:  A tweet of a Kashmir Police officer in which he tries to glorify life in the Valley where death is mostly celebrated is trending online.  In reply, the officer has got praises and brickbats.

In a series of tweets, Imtiyaz Hussain, who is currently serving as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, says “extremist radical ideology glorifying death instead of life is catastrophic”.

He goes on to say that people need to realize that it is easy to be dead than struggle decades for life, virtually sparking a war of words online.

“There is absolutely no bravery in embracing death. It’s cowardly. Living a life and struggling through it, helping a fellow human being is the real glory. It just needs few seconds of madness to be dead but years of struggle and commitment to dedicate life for humanity,” he tweeted.

While the officer has got praises from many quarters, but many netizens have tried to highlight the harsh reality why people in Kashmir want to die young. “Nobody is gonna to live here forever. Keep it in your mind u can’t defeat death. One day of life to stand against thousands of foreign occupation troopers is better than living hundreds of years under occupation,” reads a tweet.
