Forces Launch Searches In Hajin Town After Militants Throw Down A Challenge

SRINAGAR, JULY 03: Government forces on Tuesday morning launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, hours after militants appeared in a local mosque.

Reports said that a massive search operation which was launched in the wee hours today is underway in the town.

Few militants who had appeared in a local mosque after Isha (night) prayers yesterday had challenged the armed forces to arrest them.

Reports said that the militants also told people to “stay alert as the forces were planning to arrest several youth from the town.”

Meanwhile, Internet has been suspended in the area. Searches were going on when last reports came.
