Joint Hurriyat Calls Shutdown In Kashmir On Thursday Against Shujaat, Civilian Killings

SRINAGAR, JUNE 19: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a complete strike on Thursday against killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari and the continuous civilian killings in Kashmir valley.

In a statement, JRL said the civilian killings in the valley have witnessed a sudden spike since the eve of Eid as three young boys have been “brutally gunned down by the Indian forces while the fourth (one) is struggling for life at SKIMS”.

“CASO has returned with a vengeance to the villages as people are being severely beaten and harassed and used as human shields,” they said.

“The strike will also be observed against the brutal killing of veteran journalist Shujaat  Bukhari,” said the JRL while demanding an international probe into this gruesome murder.
