Shutdown Called In Kashmir Tomorrow To Pay Homage to Slain Militant Manan Wani

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 11: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) – an amalgam of separatist outfits in Kashmir – has called for shutdown tomorrow over the killing of scholar-turned-militant Manan Wani in a gunfight with the government forces in north Kashmir’s Kupwara tomorrow.

“Alas! heard the tragic news of #MananWani’s Martyrdom and of his associates! Deeply pained that we lost a budding intellectual and writer like him, fighting for the of cause of self-determination. JRL appeals to people to observe a complete #Shutdown tomorrow to pay homage to him,” tweeted Mirwaiz.

Wani was killed along with an associate in a gunfight with the government forces in Shatgund village of frontier district of Kupwara on Thursday.
