Haryana school principal stabbed to death by students over disciplinary warning

In a shocking act of violence, two Class 12 students allegedly stabbed their school principal to death in Hisar’s Bas Badshahpur village on Thursday morning after being reprimanded for their appearance and behavior.

The victim, Jagbir Singh, 50, was the principal of Kartar Memorial Senior Secondary School. According to police, the students turned violent after Singh asked them to get a haircut, dress appropriately, and follow the school’s code of conduct. He had reportedly warned the duo several times in the past about their conduct.

The incident occurred around 10:30 AM on the school campus. The students allegedly pulled out a folding knife and stabbed the principal multiple times. Singh collapsed on the spot and died from excessive bleeding before he could receive medical help. CCTV footage from the school premises shows the two boys fleeing after the attack. One is seen discarding the weapon before escaping.

The tragic incident sparked panic on campus, with teachers and students rushing to the principal’s aid. Jagbir Singh was carried to a vehicle in an attempt to get medical assistance, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Amit Yashvardhan, Superintendent of Police, Hansi, confirmed that the accused are minors and have not been taken into custody yet. “Initial findings indicate that the principal had only asked the students to follow discipline. A detailed investigation is underway, and the exact circumstances will be clearer after the postmortem and further inquiries,” he said.

Police are currently scanning CCTV footage and recording statements from eyewitnesses, including school staff and students.
