Srinagar, Sept 16: Customers have been cautioned against scammers circulating fake eKYC applications and fraudulent links through WhatsApp, SMS and social media.

The scammers often create a sense of urgency by claiming that a customer’s bank account may be blocked unless KYC details are updated, the advisory said.

Customers have been urged not to download apps from unknown sources or click on links received from unfamiliar senders. They have also been warned against sharing their one-time passwords (OTPs), PINs, passwords or other banking details.

Any KYC-related communication should be verified through official J&K Bank channels, while suspicious calls or messages should be reported immediately.

Customers have been advised to remain alert and avoid responding to messages that seek sensitive banking information.
